The palate is a study in woodsy structure with hints of white pepper and more of that rasspberry fruit. Acids and tannins are balanced, finish is delightful!
2022 was a vintage full of growing challenges and proof that vines seek equilibrium despite those challenges. With whiplash temperatures resulting in primary bud damage at budbreak, spring temperatures encouraged growth of secondary buds and a warm summer set the stage for canopy growth bounceback and good fruit set. Summer rains made ideal dry farming conditions and a dry October perfect for extended hang time, structure and flavor development. Nose is rife with aromatics of tea and ripe Raspberry. Raspberry fruit is cacrried onto the palate where woody yet floral black tea provides complexity. Finish contains notes of cracked pepper and earth. Acids and Tannins are balanced, finish lengthy.
Plenty of spring soil moisture, warm summer growing conditions then a cool fall finished with warm October temps set the stage for this wine. The 2022 Trinity is a distinctive blend of some of our favorite clones and a study in what ideal hangtime can provide! The nose opens with ripe brambleberries (think marionberry, raspberry, blackberry) and kir liquor. Aromatics carry onto the palate where they are supported by notes of light wood and white pepper. Just over 50% new french oak provides the tannin structure, acids are in balance and finish lengthy.

Purely Oregon! The cooler temps of the 2019 vintage, coupled with the nerve to hang through the early rains of this more "traditional" growing season for Oregon, rewarded us with fruit that yielded great color and flavor concentration while acids remained bright and alcohols low.
Power & Elegance! The 2019 vintage was what many would call a more "traditional" vintage for Oregon with cooler temps overall and early rains that caused some angst over gambling on hang-time versus a "safe" pick. However, farming is always a gamble and so we went for the hang time, especially for our Trinity Pinot noir which is always comprised of fruit picked later in the season for increased color and flavor concentration.
